Normal powers. Buffy is the slayer and thus has the usual powers of one. She has enhanced strength, stamina and speed as well as a natural fighting ability augmented by her years of combat training. She is far stronger than normal humans and stronger than most vampires; her former lover Angel, himself stronger than the average undead, has commented that she is stronger than he is. With extreme effort she can bend steel bars with her bare hands. She has frequently survived punishment that would be quickly lethal to a non-powered person; for instance, she has been thrown against a concrete wall hard enough that the impact damages the wall, yet been able to immediately resume fighting. Nonetheless Buffy is not invulnerable; in Seeing Red, a gunshot wound to the heart nearly killed her. In addition, Buffy requires half the amount of sleep as a normal human, has accelerated healing, and receives vivid, prophetic dreams. (She cannot control the dreams.) She also possesses a vague psychic link to the slayers who came before her and has can identify vampires a preternatural sense, though this requires concentration. In her training with Giles, Buffy has mastered practically every sort of weapon reliant of the muscle power of the wielder--swords, knives, axes, et cetera. She can master such weapons so quickly that her ability to do so is practically a super-power in itself. Lastly, Buffy awareness of her surroundings is so acute that, on one occasion, she fought and defeated multiple invisible opponents.
